BAC GIANG LYCHEES EXPORTED TO EUROPE VIA E-COMMERCE PLATFORM

On June 22, 2021, 3 tons of Bac Giang lychee were first exported to Europe through the "cross-border e-commerce" model operated and developed by Viettel Post.
In order to be able to operate the cross-border e-commerce flow, Vo So E-Commerce Platform (sponsored by Viettel Post) started building the Vo So Global booth from March 2021. This stall is a place for overseas consumers, especially Vietnamese expatriates, to buy quality products of Vietnamese origin.
Bac Giang lychee exported to Europe for the first time through the model of "Cross-border e-commerce"
After consumers place an order on Vo So Global, this e-commerce platform will collect orders, lychees will be harvested in Vietnam and shipped by air to Germany, through transport partners of Viettel Post in Germany to deliver to European consumers' homes.
Vietnamese lychees delivered to German consumers are GlobalGAP-standard lychees, have been preliminarily processed to remove damaged fruit, meet the requirements of plant quarantine and quality control in Vietnam and Europe, and are traced back to origin to the source of the garden through the application provided by iCheck.

Mr. Dang Hoang Hai - Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy assessed: "Our country has exported fruits and agricultural products to the markets of European and Asian countries... a lot. However, Exports via e-commerce are all through international e-commerce platforms such as Amazon.The successful event of Bac Giang lychee export in the form of cross-border e-commerce by Vo So, an e-commerce platform. It can be seen as a remarkable step forward for our country's e-commerce industry in bringing high-quality fresh agricultural products to foreign markets with high standards and strict standards like Europe".
Tran Trung Hung, General Director of Viettel Post Joint Stock Company said: "The participation in cross-border e-commerce has been planned for a long time by Seashells, and now is the most favorable time to launch. With the pioneering mission, the key to creating a digital society, Viettel Post will continue to put more agricultural products on the Vo So floor, not only serving domestic consumers, but also giving them the opportunity to enjoy special products with strong homeland flavor to overseas Vietnamese people all over the world".
With the success of the paved product, Bac Giang lychee, in the coming time Vo So will continue to export many other products to the world market, the goal is not only local agricultural products but also the domestic market products that Vietnam has strengths such as handicrafts, or other agricultural and aquatic products.
The established Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methodology to assess the fishmeal carbon footprint only accounts for the vessel fuel and post-harvest processing energy while ignoring the carbon sequestration potential of fish.
